Malawi’s newest Covid-19 testing centre operating at Bunda campus of the Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) was launched on Thursday, June 11, with NOCMA Deputy chief executive officer Helen Buluma calling on more players in the corporate world to join the fight against the pandemic.
NOCMA co-financed the testing centre project to the tune of ten million kwacha.
In her remarks, Ms Buluma noted that the fight against Covid-19 needed concerted efforts.
‘As a country, we can win this battle against Covid-19. However, we cannot leave the fight to government alone,’ Buluma said in her speech.
Coordinator of the project Dr Kingdom Kwapata said the centre could run up to 96 tests in a day.
Minister of Health and Population Honourable Jappie Mhango presided over the launch of the testing centre.
